Born in Lyon, France in 1975, Baptiste embarked on his dance journey at the young age of 8. His passion for movement and expression led him to the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet School at 9, where he honed his skills before briefly shifting focus to academics at 13.
Following his academic pursuits, Baptiste returned to his love for dance and began his professional career in 1997 at the esteemed Ballet National de Marseille under the guidance of renowned directors Roland Petit, Marie-Claude Pietragalla, and Frédéric Flamand. He also gained valuable experience at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens with Gradimir Pankov.
In 2001, Baptiste deepened his understanding of dance by obtaining the “French State Diploma of Dance Professor”, highlighting his commitment to the art form. His dedication to the physical well-being of dancers led him to become a certified “Comprehensive Pilates instructor” in 2008, further enhancing his knowledge and expertise.
After successfully running his own Pilates studio in Marseille from 2009 to 2014, Baptiste expanded his horizons by relocating with his family to Cape Town, South Africa in 2015. There, he obtained a Comprehensive BASI Pilates certification and now shares his wealth of knowledge and experience in Camps Bay, Cape Town.
With a foundation in body mechanics, sports, lifestyle, and biology, Baptiste brings a unique perspective to his Pilates methodology, merging his dance background with a keen understanding of human movement.
In recognition of his dedication and expertise, Baptiste achieved the prestigious title of BASI faculty member in November 2023, further solidifying his position as a leader in the field of Pilates instruction.
